General Eligibility Policy

All California public school students in grade 7-12 must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average in order to participate in any extracurricular or co-curricular activities, e.g., after school sports, drill team, chorus, band, ASB, end of the year 8th grade activities, etc. Student falling below a 2.0 grade point average at the end of any quarter grading period will be placed on academic probation for the following quarter. If the grade average is not 2.0 by the end of the nin week probation period, the student may not participate in activities for the next nine weeks. This policy hold over from year to year and in all California public intermediate and high schools. For example, if you end the year as an ineligible 8th grader and are promoted to high school you are still ineligible for activities for the first nine weeks of your 9th grade year.
