The Rowland Unified School District is seeking community input on the educational priorities to be included in its annual Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which ensures that funding is budgeted to target the needs of all students in RUSD.
The community is invited to take part in an LCAP Online Survey that is available in multiple languages (English, Chinese, Korean and Spanish) and is open March 1, 2016, through March 25, 2016.

The community is also invited to participate in one of two LCAP Community Meetings for parents and community members. Meetings are on Wednesday, March 2 at Rowland High School at 6 p.m., and on Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m. at Giano Intermediate.
The state Local Control Accountability Plan requires all school districts to seek parent, community, District staff and student input, to set goals in eight priority areas that serve high-quality educational programs for all students, including identified subgroups of English Learners, Low Income and Foster Youth. The Local Control Funding Formula has been passed by state legislation to allow local insight and meaningful conversations to take place between parents, employees and the community about their schools. Stakeholders’ recommendations will be compiled in a report that will be provided to the Board of Education. After a public hearing, the governing Board of Education must review and approve the RUSD Local Control Accountability Plan for the 2016-17 school year in June, 2016.
